THE MENTORING GROUP is a division of our not-for-profit corporation, the Coalition of Counseling Centers (CCC). CCC was founded in 1980 by Dr. Brian Jones, Dr. Linda Phillips-Jones, and some colleagues in the San Francisco Bay area.

THE MENTORING GROUP provides consulting/technical assistance, skill-based training, skill assessment, research/evaluation, and publications related to mentoring.

Dr. Brian Jones is a licensed psychologist specializing in relationships, men's emotional development, conflict resolution, research, evaluation, and economic development of Native North Americans. He's the CEO and CFO of THE MENTORING GROUP and senior author of Men Have Feelings, Too! and A Fight to the Better End.

Dr. Linda Phillips-Jones, also a licensed psychologist, is a mentoring consultant, author, and researcher. Her dissertation in 1977 may have been the first on mentoring. She's the author of Mentors and Proteges, The New Mentors and Proteges, The Mentoring Program Design Package, and other publications. She's been quoted in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Success, Psychology Today, Reader's Digest, Entrepreneur, and Executive Female. She's featured in videos, "Mentoring that Makes a Difference" and "Mentoring: The Success Connection."

Senior Consultant, Kathleen Barton, MBA, is a professional speaker, trainer, and consultant specializing in mentoring, personal mission, and work-life balance. She has more than 15 years' experience in training and development and managed for five years an award-winning mentoring program at Hewlett-Packard Company. She's the author of Connecting with Success: How to Build a Mentoring Network to Fast-Forward your Career and The Balancing Act (audiocassette and workbook).

Administrators, Vicki Bahnsen, Laurie Schell, Kathy Hamre, and a network of other consultants are also key members of THE MENTORING GROUP.
